Environmental excellence, innovation and leadership were celebrated on 30 June, when 12 British companies picked up accolades at the Business Commitment to the Environment (BCE) Environmental Leadership Awards. Pat McFadden Minister of State for Employment Relations and Postal Affairs, presented the trophies to the winners of this year’s BCE Awards, one of the longest running and most prestigious environmental award schemes in the UK. The 1.0 mg/l average for 2008 was the lowest annual mean and compares to 100 mg/l average in 2005. This has led to a
significant reduction in the toxicity of the effluent with the toxicity to the more sensitive species (Tisbe) reduced by a factor of 4:

At the "Sustainability Live" awards dinner at the Birmingham NEC 1st May 2007 sponsored by the IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment ) and Environment Business magazine this project was shortlisted in the category "Innovation for Technology".
